Boca Cold Laser Therapy

Low Level Laser Therapy

There has recently been a major medical breakthrough with the use of lasers to help relieve pain and heal the body. This breakthrough is called Cold Laser Therapy or Low Level Laser Therapy. These lasers are completely painless and there are no known side effects and with recent publication in major medical journals, such as the Lancet, more and more people are experiencing dramatic and lasting pain relief as a result of these therapeutic lasers.

Dr. Mikazans utilizes various lasers that produce concentrated levels of near infra-red and infrared light. This laser light can penetrate into the involved tissues with absolutely no pain or discomfort. Depending on the particular type of laser used, the patient may feel nothing or just a soothing warmth during the procedure. There may be a mild tingling sensation in the area as muscle spasms are reduced and circulation is stimulated.

How Cold Lasers Work

The laser works by flooding the tissues with photons, energizing the damaged cells and increasing circulation to the painful area. This produces a cascade of healing responses in your body, reducing inflammation, thereby reducing or even eliminating your pain. When the laser light is absorbed through living tissue, it triggers a biological reaction in the cells which produces certain chemical substances that are carried by the blood and lymphatic system to other parts of the body as well.

The results of laser therapy include relief of pain, reduced inflammation, improved range of motion and faster healing! Many patients will experience relief of pain on the very first visit; with others is may take a few treatments. The effect of laser therapy is cumulative, meaning each successive treatments builds upon the previous one.

Dr. Mikazans has many years of experience with Cold Laser Therapy. Using a combination of specific frequencies of light with various strengths of lasers, the most effective treatment can be produced.

Dr. Mikazans has found that many types of painful conditions will have a favorable response to this therapy. These include neck pain, back pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, TMJ pain, migraine headaches, and various types of joint pains such as knee pain, elbow pain, or shoulder pain.
